Sebastian Grabowski. // Cooperation: Viktoriya Grabowska - typhlographics Mateusz Płociński - electronics project Jarek Kordaczuk - sounds //. The idea for musical sculpture came from the desire to create an interactive object for blind and partially sighted children, which would develop their motor memory through play. The object is designed to support faster remembering of the sequence of movements and to practice their more accurate execution by building sound maps in the imagination. In order to enable the identification of sound not only from hearing, Viktoriye Grabowska designed typhlographic signs placed on each of over two hundred buttons. Sounds commissioned by Jarek Kordaczuk were marked with them. All the sounds involved in the sculpture were extracted from the piano. To arrange the composition, we must remember the order in which the keys are arranged. Due to the way they are placed, our movements are not limited to finding several elements arranged on the same line in close proximity to each other, as is the case with, for example, a piano or a saxophone. Here we are forced to alternately stretch our arms in different directions, change the position of the body. Discovering sounds and playing with them integrates and develops musical sensitivity.
